About PVCICS SEPAC

Welcome to the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)!
At Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, we believe in the power of community and collaboration to support every student’s success. Our SEPAC is a dedicated group of parents, guardians, educators, and community members who work together to ensure that students with special needs receive the support, services, and educational opportunities they deserve.


Mission Statement

The mission of the PVCICS SEPAC is to advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and their families within our school community. We aim to foster a positive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. Our goals include:
Providing a Voice: We advocate for the needs and concerns of families with children receiving special education services.
Building Awareness: We work to increase understanding and awareness of special education processes, rights, and resources.
Offering Support: We create a supportive community where families can connect, share experiences, and access valuable resources.
Collaborating with School Staff: We partner with school administrators, teachers, and special education staff to promote best practices in special education.

What We Do

Regular Meetings: We hold regular meetings throughout the school year that is open to all parents and guardians. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss special education topics, share experiences, and hear from guest speakers.
Workshops and Events: SEPAC organizes workshops, training sessions, and informational events on various topics related to special education and parenting.
Advisory Role: We serve as a key advisory body to the school district on matters of special education. We collaborate with school leadership to improve programs and services.
Resource Sharing: We maintain a resource page that offers information on local and state support services, educational resources, and advocacy tools for families.

Who We Are

The PVCICS SEPAC is made up of passionate and dedicated parents, guardians, and community members, many of whom have personal experience navigating special education. Our members bring diverse perspectives, expertise, and a shared commitment to improving the educational experience for all students with disabilities.
