Welcome Back to School – 2024

Dear PVCICS Families,

As the summer days draw to a close and the new school year begins, we want to extend a warm welcome back to all our students, parents, and staff! The start of a new academic year is always filled with excitement, anticipation, and sometimes a bit of nervousness—especially for families navigating the special education system. At PVCICS SEPAC, we are here to support you every step of the way.

What’s New This Year?

The 2024 school year promises to bring new opportunities, challenges, and growth for our children. Whether your child is starting school for the first time or moving up a grade, we understand that every student’s journey is unique. This year, we’re excited to continue our mission of advocating for and supporting our students with special needs and their families. Here’s what you can expect from SEPAC this year:

  • Monthly Meetings: Our SEPAC meetings are a great opportunity to connect with other parents, share experiences, and stay informed about what’s happening in special education at PVCICS. We’ll be kicking off our first meeting in September, and we encourage you to join us. Your voice matters!
  • Workshops and Events: We have a series of informative workshops and events planned for this year, covering topics such as IEP (Individualized Education Program) development, transitioning between grade levels, and strategies for supporting your child’s learning at home. Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming events!
  • Resource Sharing: We are continually updating our resources page with valuable information, including links to local and state support services, educational tools, and advocacy resources. Make sure to check it out for the latest updates.
  • Collaboration with School Staff: We are committed to working closely with PVCICS administrators, teachers, and special education staff to ensure that our children receive the best possible support. This year, we will continue to advocate for the needs of our students and contribute to the development of inclusive policies and practices.

Supporting Each Other

We know that the start of a new school year can bring a mix of emotions. Whether you’re feeling excited, anxious, or somewhere in between, know that you are not alone. Our SEPAC community is here to offer support, share advice, and help you navigate any challenges that may arise.

If you’re new to PVCICS or haven’t yet connected with SEPAC, we encourage you to reach out. Joining SEPAC is a wonderful way to meet other families, get involved in your child’s education, and access a wealth of knowledge and resources. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our children.

Looking Forward

As we embark on this new school year, let’s remember the power of community and collaboration. By working together, we can create a positive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings and events, and we’re excited to work alongside you to support our children’s success.

Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!

Warm regards,
Phil Seton, Liz Vasiliades, Rachel Fiore, Jennifer He,
